You need to adjust the low gear stop screw so that the derailleur cannot move far enough over to touch the spokes. On the back side of the derailleur, there are two small screws one above the other. You need to turn the lower one clockwise until the derailleur can just shift the chain to the sprocket and no farther. However, since the derailleur is also making noise in the high gear, it is possible that the derailleur hanger, and perhaps the derailleur body is bent inward from a fall or even just from leaning your bike on its right side. If this is the case, no amount of adjustment will work. The derailleur hanger may need to be re aligned, or even replaced, perhaps the derailleur as well. If you don’t feel confident about making these repairs, you may have to seek out a good bike mechanic
There are 2 small screws at the end of the rear changer unit that are for controlling the movement of the unit. Set these screws so that your gears are working properly. Good luck.
two small screws on the back of the derailer. adjust the one that is marked with an L
Check your chain—it may be time to replace it ( Check the shifters at EBAY.com [under the CYCLING category-Mountain Bike Parts] ) Switch to SRAM ( X.7,X.9,X.0 ) trigger shifters ASAP—-
