Carbon fiber handlebars for mountain biking?

Rong R asked:

I’m looking for some carbon bars that are geared towards mountain biking, but stronger than XC carbon bars.

I know of the easton dh handlebar. What others are available?

Listen to Mr. G, the slight and I mean very slight weight savings is not worth the extra cost or that carbon bars break with out notice. This past racing season every handlebar break was a carbon bar, all the bikers that crashed with alum. bars finished the race with just bent bars. Eastons alum bars are only a few grams heavier and a whole lot less pricey. Carbon has its place, but its not on a mountain bike.

there are combinations of carbon and alloy that makes the handlebars much stronger and lighter. i used to sell them in my store but have ran out of them. i have a set of road bike handlebars like that.
check under ebay as carbon handlebars and you will find a ton of them

When a aluminum bar gives out it will usually bend. When carbon bars give out they shatter and small fragments of carbon will get stuck in your skin and drive you nuts (happened to a friend NOT me). Listen to everyone else you’ll be better off with aluminum.

i own Easton monkey lite carbon bars and have no complaints. Easton carbon fiber (EC90) is a very high grade of carbon which is stronger than aluminum. you get what you pay for. the oversized version might be a bit stronger.

im telling you, NO ONE makes carbon bars like easton!

do not use carbon , when they fail they fail big ,as in you could end up seriously hurt , buy alloy ones , i have used alloys for last 10 years never had a set fail yet
